“Ghostbusters” animated movie on the way, now has director attached

Heads up, Ghostheads! A new animated movie is coming your way and we have the details.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Sony Pictures Animation has plans for a new “Ghostbusters” cartoon, which lucky fans were told about during the debut screening of the new Ghostbusters reboot trailer in Los Angeles.

Fletcher Moules will be directing the film, who you may have seen from his “Clash of Clans” commercial spots on television, while Ivan Reitman will act as producer. Not much else is known about the project, such as whether this film will feature the original busters or the new all-female cast or if this will be 3-D CGI or hand-drawn 2-D animation, but all that matters is the franchise will continue to grow and expand. It seems that Sony is going all in with this movie and has huge plans to expand it into a full-fledged epic, creating a new universe around it (the Ghost Corps) which makes hardcore GB fans like me more excited than ever.

No date is known for the film yet, but since it was just announced recently, do not expect to see much about it until next year at the earliest.
