How To Make Your Own “Ecto-Cooler” Drinks

For all you 80’s and early 90’s kids – remember drinking Ecto-Cooler? Not only was Ghostbusters one of the best cartoons on TV at the time, it was one of the only ones to have a Hi-C drink that lasted well beyond the lifespan of the show. When the 2016 Ghostbusters reboot came out, the sugary citrus beverage reappeared on shelves for a limited time (I may still have a few cans), but after the movie went away, so too did the drink. Today, we have a way for you to easily make it on your own whenever you want.

Here is the recipe, via The Daily Meal:

Copy cat Ecto-Cooler

INGREDIENTS:
1 1/2 Cup orange juice
1 1/2 Cup tangerine juice (or mandarin orange juice)
2 Tablespoons orange juice powder, such as Tang
1 Tablespoon powdered lemonade mix
1 1/2 Cup sugar
Water, as needed
Blue and yellow food coloring (for Ecto-Cooler color), to desired color I do four drops each.

DIRECTIONS:
Combine all the ingredients in a gallon carafe. Fill with water, and stir to combine. Chill before enjoying.

If you want to make it into an adult beverage, there are a few different recipes on The Dog and Pony show for that.

If any of you makes it, take pics and let us know how it tastes!
