JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure in HD Set for Digital Download in Late Summer
The 90’s arcade fighting game based on the popular Japanese manga is getting a re-release in JoJo’s Bizzarre Adventure HD Ver. Like any revamp released by Capcom, this game is going to have cleaned up, HD graphics and boasts some new unique and original gameplay mechanics that can be seen today in other Capcom fighting titles. What that exactly means is still yet to be seen, but fans of the 1998 release will still be able to enjoy the classic arcade style in Arcade SD, which also preserves the pixel art seen in the original release.
The downloadable release is also set to introduce a multiplayer lobby where fighters will be able to compete with up to seven other fighters (eight in total). The winner stays to fight on as players contest to keep their place or be forced to the side as just a spectator. Past that, players are also going to be able to save and replay their fights to share with other people online.
If that isn’t enough for you, for the first time since the original Dreamcast version launched roughly a decade ago, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure will be playable online. In an online matching system similar to the set up in Super Street Fighter 4 and Marvel vs. Capcom 3, competitors are going to be able to choose opponents based on location, skill and connection speed. Battle points can be earned for different characters and player points to compliment players’ strengths, all of which to help gamers climb up the global leaderboards.
JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure HD Ver. will be available to purchase from PlayStation®Network on August 21st for $19.99, and Xbox LIVE® Arcade on August 22nd for 1600 Microsoft Points.
