Rumors have been swirling about the Internet, as rumors are wont to do, but Capcom has finally made it official. Resident Evil 6 has been announced. Along with the announcement comes the tagline “No Hope Left.”
The game is set to take place ten years after the Raccoon City incident. And for the first time in franchise history, both Leon Kennedy and Chris Redfield will be playable in the same game, though it appears that they won’t be fighting side by side.
Along with the announcement, Capcom has released the first trailer, showing some cutscenes from the game along with what appears to be actual in-game footage. The game appears to be more along the lines of Resident Evils 4 and 5 in that it’s going to be a more action-oriented horror game as opposed to the old school survivor horror of the earlier games. Along with some new moves, a couple new characters are shown. It also looks as if Ada Wong and Ashley Graham will both be returning, as well.
Resident Evil 6 is slated for release on November 22, 2012.
