Mezco teases new items for Batman Day, including new Batmobile

Happy Batman Day! Batman (or rather, The Bat-Man back when he was first created) made his first appearance in Detective Comics #27 in May, 1939. 79 years later, his story is still being retold in print and on screen, a true testament to the Dark Knight’s status as a cultural icon. Batman Day honors this legacy built by Bob Kane and Bill Finger, and many companies are doing something for this momentous occasion.

Mezco Toyz has done some killer work with their Batman figures in the One: 12 collective, and today they opened up preorders for two figures, a purple suit variant of Catwoman, and Sovereign Knight Batman, which is the second part of their Batman action figure trilogy telling the story of the caped crusader.

Most exciting is that Mezco gave us a sneak peek of some new Bat-related items coming down the pipe. First up, is a One:12 collective figure of Commissioner Gordon, complete with Bat Signal:

They also shared the video below, teasing their take on the Batmobile:

No date on when we can expect either of these items, but Mezco tends to take these things slow and steady. You should have plenty of time to gather organs to sell (yours or others) to prepare for the enormous Batmobile, so start saving!

* This website does not condone harvesting organs to pay for toys. Pyramid schemes, however…

In the meantime, if you are on the fence about these figures, we suggest you take a look at our review of the One:12 Collective Batman figure we got during Toy Fair 2018. Prepare to be blown away!

NY Toy Fair 2017: ‘Justice League’ Batmobile by Mattel

Mattel just won NY Toy Fair 2017. Go home, everyone else.

Meet the new 1/10 scale electronic Batmobile from the upcoming “Justice League” movie. In this video, we get a private tour of the inner workings of this amazing vehicle that is a huge departure from what Mattel has made in the past. With a price point of around $250, this figure will fit action figures inside it, and features electronic lights and sounds, smoke (yes, the car smokes as you will see in the video), moving wheels and machine guns, hydraulics, an app to control the vehicle, and other working parts that make this one of the craziest things I have ever seen at Toy Fair, and one of the potentially hottest toys of the year when this gets released.

NY Toy Fair 2017: Mattel sneak peak of insane “Justice League” Batmobile

New York Toy Fair 2017 is less than a day away, but that hasn’t stopped a few companies from revealing a few key items ahead of the event.

Mattel has set the bar high with this major reveal – a new 1/12 scale Batmobile from the upcoming “Justice League” film. Mashable got the scoop on this one, and wrote:

The charcoal-gray, roughly 2 ft. long by 6-inch tall RC car features spoilers, giant, knobby wheels and was unveiled this week at the New York Toy Fair. According to Mattel, is a replica of the car Ben Affleck’s Batman will drive in the new film based on DC Comic book heroes.

The drivable car is fitted with cannons and Gatling guns that point in whatever direction you’re steering, the car chassis can lift a few inches for “jump mode” (the movie car jumps, this one does not) and there are functioning lights and engine sounds that grow louder and more intense as you increase throttle.

Inside the cockpit is a six-inch tall Batman, his steely eyes focused straight ahead and his hands gripping the steering wheel, which he really steers as you steer the remote control. The cockpit lights also change as you drive. Also inside that cockpit is a tiny POV camera. Using the associated app, you can see what the view would be were you actually riding shotgun in the Batmobile. The app also adds augmented reality, which mean you’ll see rockets and tracer fire coming out of the canon and gun.

The car even emits exhaust. The Justice League Batmobile is equipped with a small oil reservoir that it burns through each time you rev the engine.”

How much will this bad boy set you back? Just a mere $250, the equivalent of a low-end Hot Toys 1/6 scale figure. Is it worth it? My mind says yes, my wallet says no. What’s a little credit card debt when it comes to a masterpiece like this?

NY Toy Fair 2016: DC Collectibles Video Tour – Batman, Suicide Squad, DC Icons, and more

As mentioned before, my microphone began to have some issues during the last leg of this event, which led ultimately to its demise. Please excuse any scratchy audio, I did my best to make it tolerable when I could, and I can promise that this problem will not happen again.

NY Toy Fair 2016: Mezco Toyz booth tour – One:12 Collective, Marvel, DC, Mortal Kombat – VIDEO

Mezco Toyz may have just set a new standard in excellence when it comes to six-inch action figures, and when you see this video with their new One:12 Collective line, you might say the same.

We already covered Mezco extensively at their pre-Toy Fair press event, so if you want to see much more details about all of their figures, especially the One:12 Collective, you should check out our post here, which also features all of these toys out in the open and not behind glass.

At NY Toy Fair, the company debuted their first big 1/12 scale vehicle (excluding the Lawmaster motorcycle), the Batmobile from “Batman VS Superman: Dawn of Justice”. This was teased before the event, but seeing it in person is something else. We also see their six-inch figures from Marvel, DC, Star Trek, and a few other licenses.

We also learn more about what is next for this growing line of figures, and I expect very big things from Mezco as the year goes on.

Our second video with them takes a look at some of their other figures, including items from Mortal Kombat, Gigantor, Beetlejuice, Batman Returns, Hellraiser, Child’s Play, and their Living Dead dolls.

Mezco teases Batmobile for One:12 Collective

In case you were not excited enough for the big things that Mezco is doing with their amazing six-inch “One:12 Collective” line this year, a new piece of info should have your wallet very, very scared.

Twitter user DiegoScott101 sent a tweet to the NY-based toymakers, asking “Could we see a Batmobile to go with the One:12 BatmanvSuperman Batman figure?”

Ask and ye shall receive, as Mezco responded with the following image:

CauVt59WEAA6FZK

Looks like we have our first tease of a Batmobile from “Batman VS Superman: Dawn of Justice”, and it looks mighty fine! Since this is a prototype, I can’t help but wonder if any of these pieces we are seeing will light up or make sounds in the final version (we should learn the answer to that during NY Toy Fair 2016).

If you want to see what Mezco showed us in advance of Toy Fair, check out these videos, as well as these for a special spotlight on their One:12 Collective.

Mezco to Create Figures Based on the Batman Classic TV Series

Mezco Toys is proud to partner with Warner Bros. Consumer Products, on behalf of DC Entertainment, to produce toys and vehicles based on the classic 1960’s Batman Classic TV Series.

The Mez-Itz line will feature the likeness of the actors from the series such as Adam West and Burt Ward, famed for their iconic portrayals as the dynamic duo, Batman and Robin.

Mezco’s Mez-Itz line will also debut the Batman Classic TV Series toys, including the Batmobile. While the Batmobile had appeared throughout the Batman comic books, the iteration designed by George Barris for the classic TV series was radically different and quickly became a fan favorite. Batman and Robin both fit in the Mez-Itz Batmobile, as do most other Mez-Itz figures.

“Making figures and vehicles from the classic series is a dream I’ve had for more than 40 years,” says Mezco’s director of Special Projects, Mike Drake. “To finally be able to make that dream a reality is beyond amazing. Mezco is full of Batman fans. We’ll see to it that every classic Batman item we make is filled with as much Zap! Bam! and Pow! as possible.”

Mezco will be producing Mez-Itz not only of Batman and Robin, but also of the Rogues Gallery as well: The Penguin, The Joker, Catwoman and The Riddler. Every Super-Villain needs henchman, so naturally Mezco will also produce The Riddler’s Thug, inspired by the one seen on the original show.

Mezco’s first wave of Batman Classic TV Series products will hit stores in July 2013.
