Funko’s enormous booth also had a ton of movie licenses for their Funko Pop figures and mystery minis. Shown in this video are products from characters in Harry Potter, Ready Player One, Jumanji, Wonder Woman, Princess Bride, Jurassic Park, Home Alone, James Bond, Lord of the Rings, Thor: Ragnarok, Elf, Mad Max: Fury Road, Super Troopers, Tommy Boy, La La Land, Bright, and more.

Joss Whedon and Christos Gage bring a reckoning in “Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season 12” comic

Dark Horse is proud to announce the return of Joss Whedon (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Serenity) and Christos Gage (Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel & Faith, Amazing Spider-Man, Daredevil, Avengers Academy) to unite the Buffyverse for a battle-filled four-issue series Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season 12: The Reckoning this June! Buffyverse alumnus artist Georges Jeanty (Serenity, Buffy the Vampire Slayer) also returns to lend his illustrative skills to the next installment.

Following the world-altering finale of Season 11, Buffy and the Scoobies have had a laid-back year in the saving-the-world department. But as they’ve learned over their years of fighting the forces of darkness and thwarting many an apocalypse, nothing stays quiet for long. When Dawn and Xander’s housewarming party is crashed by some familiar faces with news of an amassing force that must be reckoned with—Wolfram & Hart, a legion of demons, and Harth, a vampire from the future—Buffy finds herself in a time warp that could alter the fate of the world and could spell the end for Buffy, her friends, and the Slayers, forever.

This action-packed miniseries reunites the Buffyverse with the return of Angel, Faith, Illyria, and Fray, the Slayer from the future!

Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season 12: The Reckoning #1 (of four) goes on sale June 20, 2018, and boasts three beautiful variant covers by Stephanie Hans, Georges Jeanty with Karl Story and Dan Jackson, and Karl Moline. The first issue will be available for preorder at your local comic shop in March.

Dark Horse and Buffy The Vampire Slayer celebrate 20 Years With “Parental Parasite”

Dark Horse and 20th Century Fox are excited to wish Buffy a very happy birthday! It’s been twenty years since the hit show Buffy the Vampire Slayer first premiered on Fox, and Dark Horse Comics is celebrating with the release of the third installment of Buffy: The High School Years, featuring executive producer Joss Whedon, author Kel McDonald (Misfits of Avalon), and artist Yishan Li (Buffy: The High School Years—Freaks and Geeks) in Buffy: The High School Years—Parental Parasite.

In Parental Parasite, Buffy struggles to deal with her mother Joyce’s sudden interest in spending quality time with her. Balancing this new development with her schoolwork, her friends, and her regular vampire-slaying duties proves to be a challenge. However, when Joyce becomes hypnotized by a childlike demon that craves motherly care, Buffy experiences a new kind of sibling rivalry—except in Buffy’s case, her “sibling” is actually a monster!

Set in Season 1 of the hit show, Buffy: The High School Years—Parental Parasite goes on sale June 28, 2017.

Dark Horse Summons Season 11 of “Angel” Comic Series

Buffy’s first love will receive a solo series and a “re-vamped” creative team in Angel Season 11. Corinna Bechko (Lara Croft, Star Wars: Legacy II) writes Season 11 while Geraldo Borges (Deadpool, Ghost) illustrates the series, and Michelle Madsen (Buffy Season 9, Angel & Faith Season 10) colors the issues. Scott Fischer (Angel & Faith Season 10, Buffy: The High School Years) and Jeff Dekal (Journey into Mystery, Dark Horse Presents) both created covers.

Angel Season 11 finds Angel being tormented by memories of his past. His visions link his dark past to a Big Bad coming in the future. The goddess Illyria intervenes and assists Angel as he discovers that it might be possible to change the future by traveling back in time to change the past.

Angel Season 11 writer Corinna Bechko shared her excitement for joining the Whedonverse: “I’m thrilled that I’ll be helping to add to a little corner of the Whedonverse, a rich and exciting place that contains infinite possibilities for exploration. Of course, the fact that I’ll be doing so with Angel, one of the most complex and interesting characters, means I have big shoes to fill. But I can’t wait to spend some quality time with him during this journey, and to have a bit of fun along the way!”

The first issue of Angel Season 11 goes on sale January 18, 2017, the day before Buffy’s birthday! Angel Season 11 will have twelve issues total.

NYCC 2015: FAITH ERIN HICKS PENS ALL-NEW “BUFFY” TALE FOR YOUNG READERS

As revealed at the Dark Horse: CLASSIFIED! panel at New York Comic Con 2015, Dark Horse will deliver a new original graphic novel series titled Buffy: The High School Years, executive produced by Joss Whedon. The first volume will be written by Eisner Award–winning author Faith Erin Hicks (The Adventures of Superhero Girl) with artist Yishan Li. Together they’re bringing the angst, the action, and the cool to Buffy the Vampire Slayer!

“I’m thrilled to be writing a Buffy the Vampire Slayer comic; the TV show was a formative story for me. I loved it so much that the very first comic I ever created was a Buffy the Vampire Slayer homage. It’s beyond exciting to get a chance to write the real thing!” remarked Hicks.

Set during Season 1 of the television series, Buffy: The High School Years—Freaks & Geeks delivers classic Slayer action! Moving to a new school and making new friends will create enough anxiety for any teenage girl. But when you’re Buffy Summers, a vampire slayer—the Chosen One (with all that entails)—building a new life can be overwhelming.

A group of nerdy vampires, shunned by their cooler brethren, decide to climb the vampire social ladder by taking out the Slayer. They play on Buffy’s insecurities, wearing her down until she is full-on distracted by the mental warfare. But in addition to her Watcher, Giles, this Slayer has a couple of new friends, Willow and Xander, to cheer her on . . . except, of course, when they’re not getting along.

Buffy: The High School Years—Freaks & Geeks is in stores June 15, 2016. Preorder your copy today at your local comic shop!

Doctor Who Vinyl Figures from “Titan Merchandise” at NY Toy Fair 2014

At NY Toy Fair 2014, we met Andrew from the Titans Merchandise booth, who are putting out Doctor Who vinyl toys among other Sci-Fi items and t-shirts. Coming all the way from the UK to NYC, Titans has big plans for this year, with their fourth, fifth, and sixth wave of Doctor Who blind box figures all slated through each season. The company also has new six and eight inch deluxe vinyl figures that upscale their original mini figures that look amazing.

Fans can look forward to new creatures in the new blind box line including the Ice Warrior, new companions like Clara and Rory, and the missing doctor with John Hurt as the War Doctor.

Andrew also gave us the scoop on some new licenses that they will be developing this year, including Battlestar Galactica, The Beatles Yellow Submarine, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Aliens VS Predator, and one license that they could not say in the interview since it had just been finalized, but trust me – it’s a good one!

“Buffy The Vampire Slayer” and “Angel & Faith” Comics Return in 2014!

Announced at New York Comic Con, Dark Horse is bringing the Whedonverse into it’s tenth season with the help of fan favorite authors, Christos Gage and Victor Gischler.

“In Buffy, Season 10 is going to be about bringing friendships back together, while in Angel & Faith, relationships are shattered. Magic is starting to come back into the world, but in some surprising ways, like that vampire we saw standing in the sunlight at the end of Season 9,” says Editor in Chief Scott Allie.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season 10 is slated for 30 issues, written by Christos Gage and illustrated by Rebekah Issacs, with covers by long time series artist, Steve Morris.

“The Buffyverse community has been wonderfully welcoming to Rebekah and me. It’s a tremendous honor for Joss and Dark Horse to trust us with their flagship book, and we are going to do all we can to beworthy of that trust. It’s a new season, with new rules…but hopefully the same blend of love, action, horror, humor and creativity that’s made Buffy and her Scoobies part of all our families. We hope you’ll join us for the ride,” states Christos Gage

Angel & Faith is also slated for a 30 issue run, written by Victor Gischler and illustrated by Will Conrad, with covers by Scott Fischer.

“I was proud and privileged to have a small part in season nine, and I can’t express how grateful I am to have an expanded role in season ten. Buffy the Vampire Slayer remains an iconic television show, and the Dark Horse comics continue that great tradition. I plan on having a lot of fun.” Says Angel & Faith series writer Victor Gischler

“I’m very happy that our Angel & Faith artist has hopped over to Buffy, allowing our Buffy artist to jump over to Serenity. And to make the game of musical chairs complete, the guy who draw the first two Serenity miniseries is back in the loop, taking over Angel & Faith. These are all artists Joss and the writers and I are comfortable working with, and who are cozy with these characters, so it’s nice to shake things up a bit while having a lot of confidence in what these artists can do. And I’m so happy to have Will back,” adds Scott Allie.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season 10 #1 hits stands March 19th and Angel & Faith Season 10 #1 is on sale April 2nd in comic shops everywhere!
