News broke last month about the casting of our three main leads for Jason Reitman’s new “Ghostbusters” movie. This included Carrie Coon, Grace McKenna, and Finn Wolfhard as the main family spotlighted in the movie, although what their roles will be and what they do in the movie are yet to be determined. We have seen Wolfhard don the proton pack and jumpsuit in season 2 of “Stranger Things”, but it turns out he had no idea he was even involved in the casting process for Ghostbusters until he found out he got the role.
“It’s all secret. It’s like completely, ya know,” Wolfhard said in an interview with MTV. “I didn’t even know what I was auditioning for when I auditioned for it.”
Finn added he had not even read anything yet from the script, and said he read generic lines for the audition that gave nothing away about what the movie could be about.
It’s been some time since we have had anything new for the Addams Family, outside of a musical. This year, that is being remedied with a new CG animated feature film, courtesy of MGM. Today, we have our first look at the titular family, and it’s as macabre as we all hoped.
The designs are much closer to the original Charles Addams cartoons, not like the 1991 live-action movie with Raul Julia, Anjelica Huston, and Christina Ricci. Still, these are certainly updated to modern tastes and look like they will be a lot of fun.
The cast voicing these characters includes Oscar Isaac as Gomez, Chloë Grace Moretz as Wednesday, Finn Wolfhard as Pugsley, Charlize Theron as Morticia, Bette Midler as Grandmama, and Nick Kroll as Uncle Fester.
