All-New, All-’80s Bumblebee Graphic Novel Coming From IDW Publishing This Fall

IDW Publishing is thrilled to announce that in 2018 Bumblebee from the TRANSFORMERS franchise will star in his very own original graphic novel! The perfect jumping on point for the next generation of TRANSFORMERS fans, Transformers: Bumblebee – Win If You Dare gives readers the opportunity to join in the fan-favorite character’s adventures. Life can feel rough when you aren’t the fastest or the tallest Autobot, but Bumblebee is up to the task!

When his best friend is hurt, Bumblebee takes it upon himself to finish the mission—and prove his worth to his fellow Autobots along the way. Things get tense as Bumblebee and a new human friend infiltrate a series of incredible races, hunting down dangerous foes and a devastating secret. It’s an exciting new, action-packed ’80s adventure! X-Men ’92 co-writers Chad Bowers and Chris Sims along with artist Marcelo Ferreira (Back to the Future, Transformers: Windblade) have crafted a nostalgia-tinged, yet equally fresh standalone story.

“The exciting thing about this book is that it really hits all the highs of TRANSFORMERS for fans new and old,” said IDW Associate Editor, David Mariotte. “It has action, adventure, racing and robots, but it also has a lot of heart and humor that comes through in this simultaneously retro and very modern package.”

“This story is just a ton of fun,” said Michael Kelly, head of publishing at Hasbro. “Bumblebee is the ultimate underdog, and everyone loves an underdog. IDW has done a fantastic job bringing this iconic character to life for a new generation of fans.”

This new OGN will be available in comic shops and book stores September 11, 2018 for $9.99. It is available for pre-order now using ISBN: 978-1-68405-227-1.

Ghostbusters 101: EVERYONE Answers the Call – The “Answer the Call” crew work alongside the original ‘busters in New Graphic Novel Collection

Dohhh-Reyyy-Egonnnnnnn – all the Ghostbusters are back in Ghostbusters 101: Everyone Answers the Call, a trade collection of all six issues now available for purchase!

After making their cinematic debut last summer, the latest iteration of Ghostbusters answered a new call in 2017 – appearing for the first time alongside the original Ghostbusters in Ghostbusters 101, resulting in a sold out debut due to overwhelming demand.

In this new adventure, the ghostbusting team of Holtzmann, Yates, Tolan, and Gilbert cross paths with Venkman, Stantz, Zeddemore, and Spengler, set in the long-running IDW continuity from the fan-favorite, critically-acclaimed, and prolific Ghostbusters comics creative team of Erik Burnham, Dan Schoening, and Luis Antonio Delgado who have collaborated on the IDW comics for the past five years. In addition, the new collection also features a special introduction by director Paul Feig.

Ivan Reitman, Co-founder of Ghost Corps, in addition to director of the original films, said about the comic book event series, “I’ve always wanted to meld the two worlds. I think it’s important for the future that we bring it back into a single universe.”

When an inter-dimensional mishap merges together the Ghostbusters’ universe with that of the new crew of paranormal police, the fate of two dimensions (maybe more?!) hangs in the balance. Can these distinctly different teams come together to repel the greatest supernatural challenge any of them have ever faced? They’re going to have to find a way if there’s any hope for survival. Prepare for mass hysteria of the dogs and cats living together variety, because this time everyone… ANSWERS THE CALL!

Ghostbusters 101: Everyone Answers the Call is in comic shops and bookstores now.

Ghostbusters Event Comic Series Sees Every Ghostbuster Cross Over This March

A wise man once said, “don’t cross the streams!” Guess he wasn’t counting on this! Ghostbusters: Crossing Over is the massive 8-issue event series IDW Publishing’s line of Ghostbusters comics have been leading up to which features the original Ghostbusters, the “Answer the Call” crew, and everyone in between from the world of animation and video games. This crossover has them ALL!

Just as exciting as seeing all of these Ghostbusters form the ultimate team-up, this series also sees the return of the fan-favorite creative team of Erik Burnham, Dan Schoening, and Luis Antonio Delgado!

“This story has something for everyone who has ever loved an iteration of the Ghostbusters,” said series writer Burnham. “The Prime team from the original movies? There. The Real Ghostbusters? Present. The Extreme team? Accounted for. Not to mention the characters from the video games, the 2016 movie, and the originals we’ve created for the comics! If you don’t like one character, don’t worry, we have others! BUNCHES of others.”

“The biggest challenges from an artistic perspective is emulating the styles of the Real Ghostbusters, Extreme Ghostbusters, Sanctum of Slime and any other teams that may pop up,” said series artist Schoening. “Not only do we want to honor the distinct look of the characters, but also the backgrounds and ghouls. Luckily and gratefully, we have already had a chance to play with many of those characters in previous books.”

For a while now, the original Ghostbusters have had access to an interdimensional portal that has given them all-new ways to research the paranormal and consult with Ghostbusters throughout the multiverse. But when it unleashes the contents of the Ghostbusters’ Containment Unit, it’s going to take a lot of Ghostbusters to recapture all the ghosts!

Who you gonna call? EVERYONE!

Ghostbusters: Crossing Over #1 arrives this March with covers by Joe Quinones, Dan Schoening, and Tim Lattie.

G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero Comics Sell Out Upon New Female Snake-Eyes Debut

Who is DAWN MORENO? She’s the new SNAKE-EYES and break-out character of G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero! Scripted by legendary G.I. JOE writer Larry Hama, with art by incoming artist Netho Diaz (Aquaman), issue #246 marks the beginning of the “Dawn of the Arashikage” storyline, which sees Dawn, a Mexican-American teenager, take on the mantle of Snake-Eyes, one of the most iconic members of the G.I. Joe team. This pivotal issue in Hama’s long-running G.I. Joe saga has now sold out at the distributor level, as have the preceding issues #244 (featuring Dawn’s first appearance in costume) and #245 (Dawn’s first cover appearance in costume as Snake-Eyes).

Dawn Moreno, who debuted in G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero #226, was once a gifted high school athlete whose unique physical abilities drew the attention of Cobra Commander. The Cobra elite put Dawn under intense experimentation, accidentally implanting the memories of the original (and now deceased) Snake-Eyes into Dawn’s fragile teenage mind. Now, as a haunted Dawn struggles against visions of a dark past that does not truly belong to her, Snake-Eyes’ longtime ninja comrades from the Arashikage Clan have joined together to help Dawn overcome the waking nightmare her young life has become…

“As I recently told our readers, Dawn Moreno is a fascinating character who provides me with a brand-new canvas to paint on,” said Hama. “With the original Snake-Eyes’ memories implanted into her young mind, Dawn gives me a whole new way of looking at character qualities (both her own and those of Snake-Eyes) that isn’t bogged down by accumulated continuity with a new character, who can voice things that were always left unsaid.”

Issue #226 featuring Dawn’s first appearance is sold out, but fans can jump on board with G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero Volume 16, which collects that issue and marks the beginning of her journey to becoming Snake-Eyes. To meet demand, a second printing of issue #246 will be rushed to the printer, featuring the special Netho Diaz cover art seen here.

STRETCH ARMSTRONG Extends His Reach Into Comics

STRETCH ARMSTRONG will be flexing his multi-media muscles even further this coming January when the first issue of STRETCH ARMSTRONG AND THE FLEX FIGHTERS arrives.

Based on the all-new Netflix animated series and inspired by the classic toy line, Stretch Armstrong and the Flex Fighters features Jake Armstrong, a teenage superhero who teams up with his high school friends after they are exposed to experimental chemicals that give them amazing powers. Along with his partners Ricardo Perez, AKA Omni-Mass, and Nathan Park, AKA Wingspan, they’re a diverse group of heroes who attend high school by day and fight crime by night in the futuristic Charter City!

The comics will be written by series Executive Producers and head writers Kevin Burke & Chris “Doc” Wyatt with art by Nikos Koutsis (Savage Dragon). Cover art will be provided by Aluir Amancio (Superman Adventures) and Koutsis. Burke & Wyatt developed STRETCH ARMSTRONG for television in collaboration with fellow Executive Producer, Victor Cook.

“We’re so excited to bring STRETCH ARMSTRONG into comics with IDW,” says Burke. “Our teen superhero TV series is very much influenced by classic comics, so Stretch Armstrong and the Flex Fighters having their own monthly print adventures feels like a perfect fit.”

“We’re carefully designing the STRETCH ARMSTRONG comic book stories to work as ‘stand alones’ for people who haven’t seen the Netflix series yet, but to also reward viewers of the show with more depth on their favorite characters,” says Wyatt. “We’re having a blast writing these issues.”

The forthcoming comic book series will take place during the events of this fall’s debut season of the Stretch Armstrong and the Flex Fighters animated series. Fans who pick up the comic series will get an early glimpse at a new villain introduced in the comics before making its broadcast debut, laying the groundwork for more adventures to come! It wouldn’t be a stretch to say Stretch Armstrong and the Flex Fighters #1 will be available in print and digital January 2018.

Cryptozoic and Sony Pictures Consumer Products Announce Release of Ghostbusters: The Board Game II

Cryptozoic Entertainment, leading creator of board games, trading cards, and collectibles, along with Ghost Corps and Sony Pictures Consumer Products, today announced the August 23 release of Ghostbusters: The Board Game II. Following up on the acclaimed first game, this massive standalone expansion has 1-4 players taking on the roles of the Ghostbusters as they investigate the Mood Slime that has flooded New York City, causing earthquakes and riots in an attempt to bring Vigo back. Inspired by the Ghostbusters movies, comics, and toylines, the game has players taking on the Scoleri brothers, riding the Statue of Liberty, and battling through Vigo’s Ghost army. It features highly detailed miniature figures based on original designs by Dan Schoening and an original story by Erik Burnham, both veterans of IDW’s Ghostbusters comic book series.

“It’s an honor to bring the Ghostbusters universe of film, toys, cartoons and comics into a game once again,” said Adam Sblendorio, Vice President of Creative at Cryptozoic.

In addition, two expansions for the game will be available September 20. Louis Tully Plazm Phenomenon: Expansion Pack adds Louis Tully, the Ghostbusters’ bumbling accountant and lawyer, and four new Scenarios to the game, as well as Entities like Titanic Ghosts, the Theatre Ghost, and the Giga-Plazm. Slimer Sea Fright: Expansion Pack makes Slimer part of the team as the Ghostbusters take on the fearsome skeleton crew led by the Ghost pirate Captain Jack Higgins in four new Scenarios.

Ghostbusters: The Board Game II is an episodic board game in which players battle paranormal Entities, seal Gates that leak Ghosts, investigate giant pockets of negatively-charged Slime, and use Ghostbusting Equipment, as they try to save the world yet again. Equipment Cards offer an array of powerful Weapons, devious Traps, magical Tomes, and helpful Utilities that can be used to win. Each Ghostbuster has Actions that can be used during a player’s turn to fight Entities, move, drive the Ecto-1a, deposit Ghosts into the Spirit World, place Extracted Plazms into the Ecto-1a’s Ecto-Tank, switch between different types of packs, and remove Slime from Ghostbusters.

Each Scenario takes place in various locations in an apocalyptic New York City built from map tiles and plagued by mind-altering Mood Slime, menacing Ghosts, and unrelenting Plazms. Campaign Mode links multiple Scenarios for a deeper, story-driven experience.

Cooperation is a key part of the game: Teamwork, planning, and resourcefulness are needed since players win or lose as a team.

Ghostbusters: The Board Game II will be available at retailers nationwide August 23 for a suggested retail price of $90. The two expansions—Louis Tully Plazm Phenomenon: Expansion Pack and Slimer Sea Fright: Expansion Pack—will be available September 20 for a suggested retail price of $30 apiece.
