On this episode of The Wrestling Figure Historian, we continue our look at Wal-Mart’s WWE Flashback basic series by spotlighting Sgt. Slaughter. This was a unique time for Slaughter as a heel and led to a big feud with both The Ultimate Warrior and Hulk Hogan, and garnered him this very unique figure from Mattel.
What storyline does this figure fit into, and whatever happened to the Atomic Noogie? Watch the video to find out.
Oooooh yeeaaaahh! Wrestling figure fans will be elated to hear the news on a new figure that may be hard to find, but worth the hunt.
Earlier today, Mattel unveiled their special new packaging for their exclusive Macho Man Randy Savage. The box harkens back to the old WWF arcade cabinets, albeit with a new name. It makes a figure that was previously just a new deco for an existing figure into a must-have collectable.
The Macho Man figure is coming soon to a Gamestop near you, and will retail for around $30. It’s quite the price jump from previous Gamestop exclusives like their Samoa Joe and “List of Jericho” Chris Jericho, but the deluxe packaging is likely the reason for this leap in cost. Also joining Randy Savage is a new Shawn Michaels in his Rockers era outfit. No news at this time on whether or not this is the start of a new series for Gamestop or just a one-off, and if HBK will share this box art.
Will you be adding this figure into your wrestling collection?
