Noah Centineo Confirms He-Man Role for “Masters of the Universe” movie

Production will begin soon for the upcoming “Masters of the Universe” movie, and we know officially know who our leading man will be.

We reported back in March that Noah Centineo was the frontrunner by the studio to play the role, and today we can announce it as a fact. Centineo appeared on “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon”, and was asked whether or not the rumors were true. Turns out they are!

“I have an affinity for being in my underwear,” Centineo jokingly told Fallon, “I’m very excited, it’s quite an opportunity!”

Check out the video below to hear the news, which happens from 3:12 to 3:50.

Sony has a tentative start date for production starting on July 15th in Prague and wrapping on October 18th.

Super7 Reveals HUGE Snake Mountain Playset

Fans of Masters of the Universe have had a very fortuitous decade or so, with modern updated versions of all of their favorite figures and some of their playsets. One of the holy grails for MOTUC collectors was the Castle Grayskull playset, but now Super7 has a new product that will rival that and nearly every other playset ever.

Over on their blog, Super7 unveiled the enormous Masters of the Universe Collector’s Choice Snake Mountain Playset. Standing 36-inches high and opening up 48-inches wide, this is the largest MOTU playset ever made. Good luck finding a place to put this!

Skeletor’s crib is based on the original playset, just scaled up since these figures are much larger. Just check out the comparision of the seven-inch figures look next to this thing in the picture above!

The Masters of the Universe Collector’s Choice Snake Mountain Playset will be available for pre-order from May 1st to 31st for $600 (plus shipping). If that price is too daunting for you, a six month payment plan will be available. No Figures are included with the playset, but you do get plenty of other great details and accessories.

We didn’t see this during NY Toy Fair, but we did see figures based on the live-action He-Man movie which looked amazing. They are also in-scale with this massive playset!

My favorite accessory – the BONE THRONE!

The highly detailed Snake Mountain playset features:

  • Demon with moveable jaw
  • Narrow bridge of red hot lava falls
  • Functioning trap door
  • Real chains to shackle Skeletor’s enemies
  • Break-away wall secret entrance
  • Skeletor’s table and bone throne
  • Horrifying dungeon creatures
  • and more!

You can view more pics of the playset on their website.

Noah Centineo Will Be He-Man In New “Masters of the Universe” Film

It seems Sony has finally found their hero to hold their sword high and say “I Have The POWEERRR!!!”, as Noah Centineo is slated to star as He-Man in the upcoming “Masters of the Universe” film.

According to a report from Variety, Centineo is in talks to take the role of Prince Adam and/or He-Man for the new MOTU reboot movie. Noah was most recently in Netflix’s “To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before” and “Sierra Burgess Is a Loser.” Up next for him is “The Stand-In,” and the sequel to “To All the Boys”, so a lot of romantic comedies are on his resume these days.

All signs point to him adding protector of Eternia to his IMDB page sometime soon, but really the question is whether or not he will indeed be both Prince Adam and He-Man, or perhaps just the physically smaller alter-ego of He-Man. Time will tell, but we will certainly update things once we know the final answer.

An earlier report said that principal shooting would begin this summer in Europe (perhaps a location that has an actual castle that will double for Greyskull). If that date is still accurate, expect casting news to start happening very fast over the next few months.

Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal, and Steve Tisch, as well as DeVon Franklin will be producing the movie, with a screenplay by David S. Goyer, who is also an executive producer.

“Masters Of The Universe” Movie Has A Shoot Date and Location

By the power of Greyskull, we finally have a date for the new “Masters of the Universe” movie from Sony to start shooting!

Production Weekly tweeted the news, announcing that pre-production was nearing completion, and the actual production of the movie would begin this summer.

The tweet was: “Updated production schedule and location for Sony’s MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE, from the directing duo of Aaron and Adam Nee. Principal photography is due to get underway mid-July in Prague.”

The Nee Brothers previously co-directed “Band of Robbers,” “Clark Kent has a Dream”, “The Geniuses”, and a short titled “You Can Never Really Know Someone”, just to name a few of their works.

David Goyer is penned to write the script. No casting news has been announced yet, although I would not be surprised to see something like that revealed closer to SDCC 2019.

Sony originally scheduled this movie for release on December 18th, but the likelihood of that happening is up for debate.

Super7 MOTUSCLE Mini-Figures Review

I love mini-figures, and I also love He-Man. When Super7 was able to get the license for Masters of the Universe, I was stoked when they unveiled their MUSCLE style mini-figures. I picked these up awhile ago, but I finally had some time to break them out of the box and give them a proper review.

Are these mini-figures powerful enough to add to your collection, or would Skeletor use these as ear plugs? Watch the review to find out!
