Mego is back on toy shelves in 2018, and we couldn’t be more excited.

Nerd News Today got an exclusive one-on-one interview with the creator of Mego Toys, Marty Abrams, who is a true innovator in the industry. New York Toy Fair 2013: “Bif Bang Pow” Booth

“Bif Bang Pow” was at NY Toy Fair 2013 with tons of new figures in their classic vintage style!

New items from BBP included new bobbleheads for Dexter, The Venture Bros, Doctor Who, Twilight Zone, and other shows. There were also brand new figures revealed of The Venture Bros in the classic Mego style and in a smaller 3 3/4 inch scale, and new Mego style figures of characters from Battlestar Galactica, Doctor Who, The Twilight Zone, and The Big Bang Theory. One of the coolest items unveiled was a TARDIS playset for the Mego style figures, that opens up to become bigger on the inside just like on the show.

One of the coolest things out was a series of bobbleheads from Star Trek: The Next Generation, which will include a special program to build your bridge from the deck of the Enterprise! No actual protos were available yet, but the photo above lets you know who will be in the first year of this line.

A new big property for BBP is their Six Million Dollar Man line, which includes Steve Austin and even Bigfoot! Plenty of novelty items were available too, including TARDIS mugs, electronic statues from the Twilight Zone, and plenty of other goodies.

MegoMuseum Launches “Megozine”

It may have gone out of business in the 1980s but it’s hard to keep the World’s Greatest Toy Company down. The Mego Museum and Wulf & Tyger are proud to unveil their latest project, Megozine, the official magazine for Mego collectors. Megozine is dedicated to keeping the company’s spirit alive whether it be vintage toys, newer figures (dubbed ReMego by the Museum), Knock offs or colourful custom creations.

Issue one is packed with colorful surprises including:

• Secret Origins of the 1/6th Scale Superheroes- Which details Mego’s 12 inch Superhero figures and includes a never before seen prototype of a never made Mego 12” hero.
• A Mego Museum Super Collector comic adventure “Escape from the Planet of the Knockoffs” with art by Chris Franklin
• Six Monsters, A Girl and a Mailer Box- A look at the Lincoln International Monster figures.
• Aw Yeah Megos- Interview with Eisner award winning Art Baltazar about his passion for custom Mego figures.
