I got a bunch of WizKids Miniatures to Paint!

At Toy Fair 2019, I was lucky enough to meet the folks from WizKids, who were kind enough to donate a bunch of their primed miniatures for me to paint on this channel.

I got items from their Star Trek Attack Wing, Dungeons & Dragons, and Pathfinder Deep Cuts lines. Watch the vid to see exactly which minis I received, and to find out when the next miniature painting video will be online.

WizKids Joins Forces With Hasbro To Make Miniatures

Tabletop gaming lovers will have some new miniatures coming their way soon, as WizKids just made a big announcement that will transform their business.

WizKids has picked up the licenses for G.I. Joe, My Little Pony, and Transformers from Hasbro to produce miniatures. The company is well-versed in gaming minis, and already produce unpainted and painted miniatures for Star Trek: Attack Wing, Pathfinder, and Dungeons & Dragons. The addition of these properties only strengthen their already diverse portfolio.

Here is the official press release:

WizKids, the industry leader in high quality pre-painted & unpainted miniatures and established board games, announced a new licensing partnership with Hasbro today with the addition of beloved properties G.I. Joe, My Little Pony and Transformers to WizKids’ extensive line of miniatures.

Fans can expect to see their favorite characters first appear later this year in both pre-painted and unpainted formats.

“Much of the WizKids team has grown up with these cherished brands and are thrilled to be bringing them to life with the high definition sculpting processes that our customers have come to love,” said Justin Ziran, president of WizKids.

My Little Pony and Transformers products will be available throughout North America.

What this press release does not explicitly say is whether or not this means there are going to be Heroclix or Tabletop games for these licenses. One can presume this would be the case, but until we get the official word we can only speculate.

No details or release dates have been announced yet, and we saw none of these at NY Toy Fair 2019. A first look at any of these miniatures may come as early as SDCC 2019, so fingers crossed our wishes can come true.

Unboxing “Blood Angels Tactical Squad” miniatures – Warhammer 40K

In this episode, I get ready to take a deeper plunge into the world of Warhammer 40K, and unbox my first unit, the Blood Angels Tactical Squad!

This is a lot more detailed and intense than the Intercessors three-pack I reviewed and painted last time, so before I dive into construction, let’s unbox these miniatures and see what I will be dealing with.

Painting my 3rd Ultramarine – Third Times A Charm?

Time for my third (and last) Ultramarine a la Smurf! This time, I am going back to working on the drybrush technique, with the added challenge of my first time painting a face!

I was overwhelmed with feedback on my last painting video and got a lot of great tips that I will use moving forward. However, this video was filmed back to back with the other one, so you will see a lot of the same mistakes I made last time in this one. But don’t let that stop you from letting me know what you see wrong, and what I can do differently to paint these better. Thanks for all the feedback, I promise you will see me use it in the next painting video!

Speaking of, make sure to watch until the end to see just what I plan on painting next!

What I learned painting my 2nd Warhammer 40K miniature

Previously in my Warhammer 40K series, I finished painting my very first Ultramarine. Since then, I got my hands on a three-pack of Intercessors and decided to experiment a bit with how I paint them.

Things went awry with this, my second ever mini-figure. Mistakes were made. Many of them. But, in the end, I managed to hide a lot of them/ cover them up. Did I succeed in making a decent looking mini, or is this just a glittering 28mm turd? Watch the video and let me know what you think of my painting!
