One of the oddest choices for a Marvel movie, “Morbius the Living Vampire” is still a thing that is happening. We haven’t discussed it much on the site before, but it is beginning to seem like it will be an interesting and very unique Marvel flick. Today, we have some casting news about an actor potentially joining the crew, adding more mystery to what is going on with this enigmatic film.
According to a report from Variety, Tyrese Gibson is in talks to come on board “Morbius” alongside star Jared Leto.
There is no news on who Gibson would play, so your guess is as good as mine. If you have any theories, leave them in the comments below!
Gibson was also recently announced to star in the upcoming Teddy Pendergrass biopic, and will also be in the next Fast and Furious movie (number nine for anyone keeping track).
Aside from Leto who plays the titular vampire, Gibson will be joined by Emerald City actress Adria Arjona as Martine Bancroft andMatt Smith, AKA the 11th Doctor, as an unrevealed character.
The strangest set of Marvel Minimates ever just got a little stranger! Sorcerer Dr. Strange takes the spotlight on the new packaging for the Strange Tales box set, featuring Strange, First Appearance Blade, Werewolf by Night and Morbius the Living Vampire!
“In the Marvel Universe, being a hero often means putting on a costume and fighting crime, but in the dark corners of that world, real demons lurk. Earth’s Sorceror Supreme, Dr. Strange, protects this plane of existence from supernatural threats, assisted by the vampire hunter Blade, living vampire Michael Morbius, and Jack Russell, the Werewolf by Night.”
Due to arrive in April, the set of four Minimates includes some new, character-specific accessories, like Blades wooden stakes (including one with a throwing effect), a flight base for Morbius, and Dr. Stranges spell-casting hands. Each Minimate stands 2 inches tall and has 14 points of articulation to re-create all of the classic Marvel covers of the 1970s. Check out the comic-book-inspired packaging below!
