Icon Heroes Crane Kicks Into Toy Fair 2019 With New “Karate Kid” Action Figures

My adrenaline has been pumping all week with Toy Fair 2019 news, and today is the final day before the big show. The news keeps on coming, and while we want to save some things for this weekend, this was an item we could not wait on.

Icon Heroes, who is known more for their bobbleheads, statues, prop replicas/ office supplies, are getting into the action figure market. Their first venture will be the 1984 classic movie “The Karate Kid”.

These 1/12 scale figures come with swappable hands and hands, and a ton of articulation.

No price or release date has been announced for these yet, nor if they will be sold individually or as a two-pack.

The last company to make Karate Kid figures was Funko with their ReAction figures. This year, the 35th anniversary of this movie, we are getting figures not just from Icon Heroes, but also from NECA.

So far today, we also learned about NECA’s new TMNT cartoon two-packs, and the amazing Ghostbusters and Transformers crossover figure named Ectotron.

Now You Can Sweep The Leg with NECA’s New “Karate Kid” Figures

You don’t have to send this version of Daniel LaRusso home in a body bag. Instead, he can come home with YOU, and in a window box package, along with his arch rival, Johnny Lawrence – courtesy of NECA and their new action figure two pack.

Just announced on NECA’s facebook page, the company unveiled two new eight-inch MEGO style action figures from the 1984 classic, “The Karate Kid”. Featuring superb likeness of Ralph Macchio and William Zabka, this set includes some very great accessories (including the famous All Valley Karate Championships backdrop with referee Bob Wall ready to start the fight), and is very tempting to a fan of the series like myself.

Expect to see more images and footage of this and more during NY Toy Fair 2019, where we will have extensive coverage of NECA’s booth.

Earlier this week, NECA also gave us our first look at their Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle’s 1990 movie version of The Shredder.

Speaking of the Karate Kid franchise, have you watched the “Cobra Kai” show on Youtube yet? It’s only available through Youtube’s premium (AKA paid) service, but they were kind enough to leave the series premiere available for free for all to watch. Check out the debut episode below and let us know what you think:
