Mezco Announces “5 Points” Action Figure Line – Toy Fair 2019

Mezco Toyz has been teasing us for weeks with NY Toy Fair 2019 reveals, and today is no different. With the event only a few days away, this announcement might be the biggest, as the NYC-based toymaker has unveiled an entirely new line – 5 Points!

The company made their announcement (and posted two teaser photos) last night on their official blog:

Toy Fair is less than a week away and it’s time for another Toy Fair 2019 product reveal! Here’s a sneak peak at a brand new line we will be debuting at Toy Fair: 5 Points.

So, why the name 5 Points? Because these figures being done in the same vein as Super7’s ReAction figures and other retro-style toys, with five points of articulation. Those points are a rotating head, and arms and legs that can move up and down, and that’s it.

For now, it appears they only have the Hanna-Barbera license, but that’s still quite a large universe to get through. The two figures seen above are Birdman and The Ghost of Elias Kingston from “Scooby-Doo, where are you?”, which can only mean the entire Scooby Squad is not far behind (and more figures of Velma from Scooby-Doo is fine by me).

It’s quite a big change from their One: 12 line, which has brought Mezco a ton of attention from figure collectors since it debuted a few years ago. However, if there is one company who can do this retro figure and make it awesome, it’s Mezco.

This is an exciting announcement, but it’s highly doubtful that any of these products will be in display at Toy Fair since the images say “Sculpt in Progress”, and it may be too early in production to show anything more concrete, as licensors still need to give their final seal of approval.

There have been a lot of reveals leading up to NY Toy Fair. Some of the highlights so far have included Hasbro’s “Star Wars: Galaxy of Adventures” figures, McFarlane Toys picking up the Wizarding World of Harry Potter license, Mezco’s new One:12 Captain Marvel figureMego announced new 14″ Star Trek figures, and a new line based on characters from Stan Lee’s vault, and Neca debuted a great looking Shredder and Karate Kid set.

Stay tuned this weekend as our exclusive NY Toy Fair 2019 coverage begins on Saturday!

WATCH – Grey Delisle tells the best stories at BoroughCon 2017

Here is the full Q & A panel with Grey DeLisle (AKA Daphne of Scooby-Doo fame) at BoroughCon 2017.

The veteran voice actress got her break as the role of Reptar on Rugrats in 1994. Since then she has starred in hundreds of popular cartoons including The Fairly Odd Parents, Avatar: The Last Airbender, Star Wars: Clone Wars, The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy, Danny Phantom, Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends, Batman: The Animated Series, Green Lantern, Wow Wow Wubbzy and Clifford, the Big Red Dog. Still, she is best known as the voice of Daphne that she has performed on Scooby-Doo since 1997.

Gamers recognize her voice from such titles as Monkey Island, and the characters of Nova in Starcraft, the Female Wizard in Diablo 3, and both Vicky Vale and Catwoman in the Batman: Arkham City video game.

For those who don’t want to sit through the entire panel, here are a few hilarious highlights with Grey:

In this clip, Grey talks about her Grandmother, and how much she loathes Spongebob Squarepants and an incident with the Taco Bell Chihuahua.

Things took an unexpected turn at BoroughCon 2017, when Jess Harnell invaded Grey Delisle’s Q & A panel and asked her about some pretty crazy stories that involved the voice behind Daphne from Scooby-Doo and Azula from Avatar going to an amateurs night at a strip club, and working for the Spice channel.

That title may sound pretty innocent, but this video features a few hilarious stories about Avatar, orgasms & the craziness that is her son.

Grey also appeared during the “Women in Voice Acting” panel and “Toons You Grew Up With” panel.

New WWE animated movie on the way – Scooby Doo and the Curse of the Speed Demon

Yoinks! WWE Studios and Warner Bros. have just announced a sequel to the amazing Scooby Doo and the Wrestlemania Mystery movie (seriously, you need to see it), and this one looks more insane than the last.

12936588_1165282633491336_8989190896078543157_n

WWE Studios tweeted this image along with the following text: “Get ready…Scooby-Doo! and WWE: Curse of the Speed Demon is coming this Summer to Blu-ray, DVD and DHD!”

Not much else is known about this movie yet, but it would appear that the Undertaker will have a big role in this one, along with Triple H and what looks like Paige next to him.

What excites me the most about this is the Wacky Racers elements. In this picture, we see at least four different race cars, and I am sure each of those is driven by a different pro wrestler. It appears the car on the left might say “Brie”, because we can see what looks like the last three letters of that name there so Brie Bella will be racing. The bull car might be Los Matadores, and the black car next to the Mystery Machine is anyone’s guess.

I legit can not wait for this movie, and if you are a fan of WWE, Scooby Doo, and animated nonsense, this will be the cartoon for you.
