“Avengers: Endgame” Has biggest opening night In History Of Cinema
It’s still technically only been not even a full day since “Avengers: Endgame” was released in US theaters, but it’s already broken some serious records.
On opening night, “Avengers: Endgame” made $60 million at the domestic box office for its preview showings on Thursday night, according to an article from CNN. That makes it the biggest opening night in history.
The previous record was from 2015, when “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” made 57 million on opening night.
To put these numbers into perspective, “Avengers: Infinity War” made $39 million for its preview showings last year before going on to have the highest-grossing opening weekend in history at $258 million. It’s pretty certain that, barring a nuclear apocalypse, Endgame will topple those numbers.
Anaylsists are estimating that the movie could make over 260 million in North America and over $800 million globally this weekend alone. It’s already made over 300 million in China, the biggest opening day ever in that country.
