Lycia Naff returns as Captain Sonya Gomez in “Star Trek: Lower Decks” – Trek Untold Bonus Minisode

About a year ago, we posted our interview with Lycia Naff, which quickly became one of our most popular episodes. Who knew that today she would make a triumphant return to the Star Trek universe, reprising her character of Ensign Sonya Gomez. Only this time, it’s Captain Gomez aboard the USS Archimedes! Yup, she got a promotion (take that, Ensign Kim) and appeared in the “Star Trek: Lower Decks” season 2 finale “First First Contact.”

Lycia rejoins Trek Untold for a second round to discuss what got her out of retirement to take the role, what it was like reprising this fan-favorite character, and all the in’s and out’s of being on a Star Trek show again. We also discuss a few loose ends from our last episode, including a discussion of her time in “Hunter” and “Lethal Weapon” and a few other Hollywood tales, plus updates from her charitable organization, Drive-By Do-Gooders.

Visit to donate to the cause, and if you donate $35 or more, Lycia will send you an autographed picture. In the comments section where you donate, include your name and address and what pic you would like, and Lycia will send it on your way!
