New York Toy Fair 2013: “Kid Robot” Booth

Designer vinyl company and distributor “Kid Robot” was at NY Toy Fair 2013 with a great booth full of tons of debuting goodies, as well as pre-existing ones that will be seeing new life this year.

The Yummy Dessert and Yummy Breakfast line will continue this year, with the blind box keychains returning, as well as key guards, mini plushies and diecast metal keychains. The innovation this year is that the line will now feature identically-sized packaging, meaning a store can order a bunch of the different items and they will all fit in the same shelf space. There are also plenty of large plushies returning this year that are fun to hug but not to eat.

Also making a return this year is the “BFF” (Best Friends Forever”) line, more Labbits (including the new “Seven Deadly Sins” line), and plenty of their licensed properties from The Simpsons, Futurama, Family Guy, and South Park. The newest South Park item will be based on the new video game, “South Park: The Stick of Truth”, which was leaked at the show. You can get a version of Cartman, Stan, Kyle, Kenny, and Butters as you see them in the game. If you buy the game’s special edition, players will also get a larger version of Cartman in his wizard outfit. The Simpsons will have a new five pack this year, with the family as you saw them at the end of the classic “Treehouse of Horror” episode where the fog infested their house and turned them inside out.

Street Fighter blind box figures are also continuing, with many new figures in the line. We were able to get images of Cammy, Akuma, and Charlie, but there are also a few others that we were not allowed to show. New to the line is the versus two-packs, which will be a two-pack for $18, allowing you to see one figure that you will be getting, but hiding their opponent (a pretty great deal considering you get to know one half of who you will get).

Fans of do-it-yourself toys can look forward to new Marvel Comics Munny figures, which are fully customizable and come with a random pack of stickers to make them look like your favorite heroes and villains from Marvel. There will also be zipper pulls in this style that are already done with the actual characters, stylized in Kid Robot’s special way, and even Marvel style Labbits.
