Nintendo tribute drawing features over 300 video game characters

Artist Luis Carrasquillo worked on this massive piece for nearly ten months, and features 304 characters from classic and modern Nintendo games. The poster includes favorites from Mario, Zelda, Metroid, Pokemon, Kirby, and even some obscure names from Pikmin, Earthbound, and Elite Beat Agents, as well as some third party characters like Sonic the Hedgehog.

Luis had this to say about his reasoning for making this illustration:

This artwork is a tribute to Nintendo. A company who help build the videogame industry and until this day is still revolutionizing the landscape of videogames and creating new exciting experiences for gamers of all ages.

The company who have given us classic games such as Super Mario Bros., The Legend of Zelda and Metroid along with modern classics such as Pokémon, Pikmin and Super Smash Bros. The company who have given us iconic characters such as Mario, Pikachu, Link, Samus and Donkey Kong. The company who’s innovations include shoulder buttons, control stick, rumble feature, first console 3D platformer, controllable camera, hub worlds, Z-targeting, dual screen/touch screen gameplay, motion controls and 3D gaming without glasses.
