“The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening” Gets Switch Remake Later This year
The very first Legend of Zelda game for a handheld system, “Link’s Awakening” is making a comeback with a newly reinvigorated upgrade on the Switch.
During yesterday’s Nintendo Direct, the remake was announced, along with how it will differ from its predecessor.
Unlike the original Gameboy version as a 2-D top-down RPG, the Switch remake will use 3D models to modernize the look and feel of the game.

Originally released for the Game Boy system more than 25 years ago in 1993, one of the most beloved games in The Legend of Zelda series returns. In this modern re-imagining, players once again return to the mysterious island of Koholint to guide Link on a perilous adventure.
The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening arrives exclusively on Nintendo Switch in 2019.
